Engraving large pockets
To engrave pockets that are wider than the chamfer tool's diameter, follow these steps:
- In this example, the engraving should be 3mm deep
- OP 1: 2D pocket.
- Set bottom height to the selected contour with an offset of -3mm.
- under radial stock to leave, enter the radius of the V-bit at 3mm from the tip
- to calculate the offset, make a cross-sectional drawing of the V-bit and measure the diameter at the correct distance (3mm) from the tip. Divide this length to become the radius.
- OP 2: Engraving operation with V-bit
- Set bottom height to the selected contour with an offset of -3mm.
